Vyan / Vyaan Hasta Mudra – A Part of Kuber Mudra ( कुबेर मुद्रा )

Bringing Air & Space elements together with Fire Element in vyana mudra brings therapeutic benefits, especially for the blood circulation and blood pressure. We know well that due to improper lifestyle this type of vata gets vitiated and thus the functioning is hampered. By the practice of this mudra the vyana-vata can be normalised. In particular, if there is a sudden increase in blood pressure, vyana mudra is recommended as a treatment to reduce this.

Vyana is the name of one of the vayus, or pranic “winds” in Ayurvedic anatomy, that moves from the Heart-Center of the body to every area of the body. As such, vyana vayu and its mudra are related to blood circulation so as to stimulate the vyana vayu which is responsible for all types of movements and the proper circulation of lymph and blood throughout the body. It is thus responsible for distributing oxygen and nutrition to all the cells in the body through the circulatory system. Disturbances in Vyana Vayu can cause blood pressure problems.
Vyana Vayu Mudra is aimed at improving and to regulate the blood circulation. High as well as low blood pressure can be balanced using this mudra.
It removes drowsiness and excessive sleep. Vyana Vayu Mudra can give better control of response to temperature. Those who cannot tolerate excessive heat can benefit from this mudra. It gives control over excessive thirst, sweating and urination. Vyana Vayu mudra can be used to control diarrhoea.

रोगनिवारण लाभ- हमारे शरीर में पांच तरह की वायु रहती है उसमें से एक का नाम है- व्यान। सारे शरीर में संचार करने वाली व्यान वायु से ही शरीर की सब क्रियाएँ होती है। इसी से सारे शरीर में रस पहुँचता है, पसीना बहता है और खून चलता है, आदमी उठता, बैठता और चलता फिरता है और आँखें खोलता तथा बंद करता है। जब यह वायु असंतुलित या खराब होती होती है, तब प्रायः सारे शरीर में एक न एक रोग हो जाता है। 

व्यान मुद्रा को करने से पेशाब संबंधी सभी रोग दूर होते हैं। जैसे- पेशाब ज्यादा आना, पेशाब में चीनी आना, पेशाब के साथ घात आना, पेशाब रुक-रुक कर आना आदि रोग समाप्त हो जाते हैं। इसके अलावा इस मुद्रा के नियमित अभ्यास से मधुमेह, प्रमेह और स्वप्नदोष भी दूर होता है। स्त्रियों के लिए यह मुद्रा सबसे ज्यादा लाभदायक बताई गई है। इस मुद्रा को करने से स्त्रियों के सारे रोग समाप्त हो जाते हैं।

यह मुद्रा उच्च और निम्न, दोनों तरह के रक्तचापों में आश्चर्यजनक रूप से लाभ पहुंचाती है। इस मुद्रा में अग्नि, वायु तथा आकाश तत्वों में संतुलन बनता है। इस मुद्रा को दोनों हाथों से करें। 
रक्तचाप को सामान्य बनाए रखने के लिए इस मुद्रा को सुबह और शाम 20+ मिनट के लिए करें। इससे न केवल उच्च रक्तचाप जल्दी ठीक होता है, बल्कि बाद में सामान्य भी रहने लगता है। यह मुद्रा हृदय से संबंधित रोगों में भी बहुत लाभकारी है। हमारे शरीर में वात, पित्त और कफ का संतुलन बनाने के लिए यह काफी प्रभावशाली मुद्रा है।

Other Benefits: It reduces the body pain developed due to the vitiation of vata dosha and it also improves the strength and activities of all the nadis. This regulates high or low blood pressure. Increases enthusiasm, initiative and speed of thought, Reduces drowsiness, Improves excessiveness of – sweating, thirst and urination. It removes fatigue, laziness, dizziness. General debility developed due to less sleep can be overcome by the practice of this mudra. Mental stability can be achieved by this practice. It provide zeal, freshness to the mind, liveliness to the body. Functioning of heart can be improved. It gives good control over excessive sweating, micturition and thirst. Lack of initiation, slowness of thoughts and perception can be corrected by the practice of this mudra. By the regular practice of this mudra one can develop self-esteem. Vyan mudra give control over temperature, it can be helpful for those who cannot withstand heat.
Note: After the practice of this mudra one has to practice prana mudra for 20 minutes which improves the benefits.

Relationship with स्वाधिस्ठानचक्र Sacral Chakra:- Vyana mudra is also connected with the swadisthana chakra, or the sacral chakra, which is associated with pleasure and creativity.

How To Form Vyana Mudra?

Touch the Tips of Index and Middle Fingers with the Tips of Thumbs of Both the Hands.

Time Duration:- 20+ Minutes – Two Times a Day, although for ‘BP“, this should be practiced several times per day and should be followed by practicing Prana Mudra for 20 Minutes!

At the end of the day I feel I have a stuffy nose and tend to get cold and dry cough very often. Naran S Balakumar Do the VARUN Mudra (Jal Dhamak) for 15 minutes as shown in the picture. Then do the Kuber Mudra or so called MOVEMENT Mudra with PRAN Mudra down (Index and Middle fingers touching the tip of the thumb, while placing the ring and little fingers at the base of the thumb, on both the hands). The Varuna Mudra will discharge the polluted stuff from the lungs. The Pran Mudra down will act as a Fire Mudra converting the thick mucus to water.
