Jal Naashak / Shaamak जल नाशक / शामक Hasta Mudra (Curing Mucus, Acidity & Frequent -Excessive Urination)

Jal/Varun Nashak or Varun/ Jal Shamak Mudra लाभ :-
शरीर में जल की मात्रा अधिक होने से आँखों के नीचे की त्वचा फूल जाती है। 
जल की मात्रा अधिक  body फूलने लगता हैं और मोटापे की बीमारी व्यक्ति को घेर लेती है। 

इन सब से छुटकारा पाने के लिए यह मुद्रा बहुत लाभदायक है। 
How To?
First Version: Place Pinki/small fingers of both the hands on the base of the thumbs of both the hands and keep on pressing the fingers under thumbs with a very slight pressure.
Second Version:- Put the pinky finger of only right hand and place it to the pad of right thumb. Then wrap your right thumb over the top of pinky finger. by wrapped left hand gently around the right hand placing left thumb over the top of the right thumb. 16+ minutes thrice a day.

Jal Nashak or Jal Shamak Mudra  

Overhydration (excess of water/fluid) in the body is a disorder that is caused by either drinking too much water (which is very rare), excess salt in the body, dilution of electrolytes, or when the body is unable to get rid of water on a timely basis. And with the practice of Jal Shamak Mudra these conditions can be kept in control, 

This mudra could well treat the excess of mucus and water which gets accumulated in the frontal sinuses and nose during colds, lungs, digestive tract from the stomach to the large intestine or lungs which may be caused due to certain allergic reactions and pollutant irritants. Thus this mudra may cures emotional cum psychological congestion being over stressed and excess mucus in the sinus, stomach and lungs due to our faulty eating and polluants!

Sedentary life style is also a common cause of acidity.
Untimely & Erratic meals along with excessive consumption of refined oil, processed flour, habitual eating of packaged foods, caffeine to kick-start the day and mixing foods indiscriminately can severely affect the health of our gut. A stressed and anxious mind could also hit your digestive function acutely. Another particularly obnoxious thing is having an extended and long dinner which runs too close to the bedtime. This is a major contributor to the overall ill health, particularly in the gut.

One other reason noted for the excess mucus formation could be to express an internal reaction formed due to our feelings of being over burdened with the responsibilities which alters our nerves causing fear of not being able of meeting the targets in the stipulated time period and or anger resulting in tension that may lead to the formation of excess mucus. Thus, the sufferers should also choose a path to not to remain under the continued threat of being responsible in excess. They should refrain from sharing the responsibility of those tasks which they are certain for not being able to deliver. In addition to practicing Jal Nashak Mudra, the sufferers should also practice Pushan /acceptance mudra for becoming and feeling normal in accepting the new path – affirming that- Let’s go with the flow so that we may become adaptable and easily accept the life change and let us go of what no longer serves me. Also practice Jnana hasta mudra in meditation state. Learning new skills matching the task responsibilities is also required.

How it works & effects? Pressing our little finger down on thumb pad can control the excessive water / acidic water. The thumb also experiences a pressure thus reducing the fire element or inflammatory conditions. Then bringing gentle pressure of the thumb upon this finger amounts to suppression of element water (residing in the little finger) by element fire( residing in the thumb).

Jal-shaamak mudra reduces the water-content of the body by suitable affecting the water-metabolism. It can, therefore, be used to overcome water-loggging with in the body.

Water is also a component of the two bodily humors: Pittta and Kapha. Practice of jal-shaamak mudra brings about a reduction of these humors. People with a pronounce Pitta+ Kapha constitution can immensely benefit by the practice of this mudra. Such people can regularly practice this mudra even to prevent illness.

Benefits: This mudra also has a de-stressing effect and since stress is linked to acidity levels this mudra also offers relief in congestion and is soothing in diarrhoea. It is also therapeutic in menorrhagia or excessive bleeding during menstruation. Jal-shaamk mudra can also be used to overcome the following disorders:
