Pushan ( पुषाण हस्त मुद्रा ) – An Energy, Nourishment & Digestion Mudra ‘n’ For Accepting Ones Present Situation & Thoughts To Get Balanced & Adjusted In Life!



Digestion Mudras: Pushan+Pran:

Pushan Mudra or Acceptance Mudra is concerned with the Manipur Chakra.

Pushan Mudra is formed with the fingers of the right hand which creates a receptive position while those of the left hand take a form that represents elimination.

This mudra which is concerned with the Nourishment and Digestion & Other Issues is a hand gesture related to proper nourishment that can help balancing and better functioning of digestive system by invoking our internal digestive fires, which helps our body optimise the nourishment it receives from the foods we eat . This way – it improves digestive flow and help our body receive vital nutrients from our meals. It also does proper psycho-somatic detoxification and also improves our digestion, elimination to give relaxing effect on the Solar Plexus

(gallbladder, liver, intestines and all other stomach organs) and helps regulate the autonomic nervous system. It has an excellent effect on nausea and indigestion. With every inhale and exhale, there is light and clarity in your mind and emotions.

This mudra expresses accepting and receiving with one hand and giving or letting go with the other hand. When practiced together it influences the energy currents that are responsible for absorbing and using food for fuel, as well as for eliminating food. In addition, the Pushan Mudra – also eliminates the excess of water from the body as it generates heat in the body

Affirmation:- I accept everything that is good for me and embrace it. I release everything that no longer serves me.

Practice the Pushan Mudra on a regular basis for a minimum of 5 minutes or more, three times a day, either after breakfast, lunch and dinner or anytime even. Better, if the Pushan mudra is followed by a few minutes practice of the Prana Mudra for enhancing its results. This helps the body accept the food eaten and digest well to convert the food to energy. This mudra in turn helps you go with the flow of life. ‘PUSHAN’ means SUN-GOLD, so this may be called as the golden mudra.  If a regular practice habit of practicing this mudra is inculcated, it will definitely bring ease in all areas of our life. Pushan Mudra directs breath, awareness and energy to the solar plexus, our seat of digestion in the body. It balances “Samaan Vayu समान वायु” – the The Inward Circular Flow Of Subtle Energy In The Body. By giving us the ability to digest what physically take in, we can better assimilate life’s experiences and process steps of growth along our journey with greater ease and lightness.

As you hold the mudra, take several deep and slow breaths to slow the mind down and become aware of the body. Notice as you breath what is happening around the navel.
Allow each breath to flow into the belly and soften the area around the navel and below the diaphragm, the seat of the solar plexus. Visualize the breath as a golden light moving into this space of the body. This golden light brings warmth to the stomach and intestines, and stokes the fire of your digestion.
Continue to breathe consciously, visualizing anything that feels stagnant or undigested in your body and mind dissolving with the the gentle fire that glows through the belly. Repeat the affirmation, “As my entire being is nourished completely, I experience optimal health and vitality.” 


How To?

Right Hand Side: Touch the index and middle fingers tips of right hand with the tip of right hand thumb and keep the ring & little fingers extended straight.

Left Hand Side:- Touch the Middle and Ring Fingers Tips of Left Hand with the Tip of Thumb, while keeping the Index and Little Fingers extended straight at 180° angle.

May chant the Solar plexus mantra:- ॐ रं नमः Om Rum Namah or (AUM Rahang Namah)

Use : After Meals (For Proper Digestion):-

For activating the Solar Plexus or Manipura Chakra) – Meant for Upper GI
(Gastrointestinal Diseases) Track Issues Like: Reflux (Heart Burning) and Belching
(Gas Coming Through Mouth डकार).

It Improves digestion and do nourishment and Assimilation of digested food and Detoxifies the Body!
It can relieve nausea during motion sickness & good for curing Diabeties too!

Life Enrichment: Also Known as Acceptance Mudra, it helps us to accept our live situations & to overcome sadness or an unnecessary resistance to situations, this mudra can help to get into a mood of acceptance.

Life Balancing: It also helps learning to balance our life including balancing our income and expenditure, and by shaping our mind in a natural way to learn balancing all the activities in our life.

Helps in Preparing us To Accept & Live in Present And Also Helpful if Practiced before giving some kind of Presentation or facing Interview etc.

Students Friendly Mudra: Is Students Friendly as Students don’t feel like to get Sleep and do away the Laziness after taking Meals & Acceptance Mudra;

Since it activates our Solar Plexus / Manipura chakra मणिपुर चक्र – it may be termed as one of the best and a special Energy Nourishment & Detoxification Hasta Mudra. For better results, may also Chant: OM RUM NAMAHA ॐ रं नमः or ॐ ललितं लम्बोदरं or रं बं लं दं धं and – doing this sitting in Vajrasan वज्रासन Pose immediately after taking MEALS for 20 Minutes! This is highly beneficial for the Sugar / Diabetes Patients! Note:- To enhance the results of this mudraDoing Pran Hasta Mudra after this mudra for 20 Minutes will help giving energy and won’t let us feel week and Hungary for Long duration!


Mantra and Mudra will activate all stomach organs including liver, gallblader, pancreas and intestines etc;

It is also called as Acceptance Mudra. Whatever happens in your life has to be accepted by you.

This will also work when you are in distress or whenever you feel sad, making you accept life as it is.

When you can’t accept the other person, be in this Mudra then you will be able to accept them.

OM Lalitam Lambodaram and or RUM BUM LUM DUM DHUM also can be chanted with this Mudra for better digestion and to get post meals comforts.

This version of Pushan Mudra – also known as acceptance mudra teaches us to learn to how to go with the flow. It improves our connection with the universe. We may notice a number of times that even after having done our best -nothing goes right. On the other hand, se may also notice that after getting no desired result even after doing our best, if whenever, we are put to relax into the flow of things, they change naturally and gracefully as needed. This mudra helps to learn this in addition to learning to make appropriate food choices. This mudra practice also improves our digestion.

To accept that what happens in our life and to overcome sadness or an unnecessary resistance to situations, this mudra can help to get into a mood of acceptance. This also teaches to learn to have patience in ones life. We also learn to make good choices with the help of practising this mudra – say to select best food that is good for our health, while being in a party or at some hotel or a restaurant.

Another Way of Doing Pushan Mudra by Putting Finger Tips on Nails:-

Right Hand Side:- The tips of the  thumb, index finger, and middle finger are on top of each other; the other fingers are extende

Left Hand Side:- The tips of the thumb, middle finger, and ring finger are on top of each other; the other fingers are extended.
This mudra symbolizes accepting and receiving with the gesture of one  hand and letting things flow, giving, and letting go with the gesture of the other. Both should be coordinated with each other in digestion.  It influences the energy currents that are responsible for absorbing and utilizing food, as well as helping with elimination. This helps in intestifying our Breathing which in turn helps better Oxygen absorption and exhaling and releasing of Carbondioxide from our LUNGS!


It has a relaxing effect on the solar plexus (the area of the stomach, liver, spleen, and gall bladder), regulates energies in the Autonomic Nervous System, mobilises energies of Elinination and Detoxification!. It has an excellent effect  on general or acute nausea, seasickness, Flautance and the sensation of Fullness After consuming Rich Meals!
